The Chihuang high-speed railway is an important part of the Wuhan-Hangzhou high-speed railway passageway. the line starts from Chizhou Station to Qixian East Station and Huangchang section (Anhui section) of Hangchang high-speed railway under construction to Huangshan North Station. The new main line is about 125 kilometers long and the design speed is 350 kilometers per hour.

It is reported that there are five stations in Chizhou, Jiuhuashan, Huangshansxi and Qiao (CTOnews.com Note: y sounds) County East and Huangshan North along the Chihuang high-speed railway line, of which the Taiping Lake Bridge is a control project.

Chihuang high-speed railway is located in the mountainous area of southern Anhui. There are 34 tunnels, 55 extra-large and medium-sized bridges, and the ratio of bridge to tunnel is as high as 89%. The topography and geomorphology along the line are complex, long rail transportation and shelf laying are difficult, and precision requirements are very high.

The railway department said that when the project is completed and opened to traffic, it will become a golden tourism route connecting the core scenic spots of two mountains and one lake in southern Anhui (Jiuhua Mountain, Huangshan and Taiping Lake). It is of great significance to improve the layout of the regional railway network, speed up the construction of the international cultural tourism demonstration zone in southern Anhui, and promote coordinated economic and social development along the route.
