CTOnews.com, May 22 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- the armor today announced the launch of the new BG6 series of solid state drives, the first to use sixth-generation BICS FLASH 3D flash memory with almost 1.7 times the performance of its predecessor, but only 1TB and 2TB versions use BICS6, while smaller 256GB and 512GB versions still use BICS5.

According to reports, this hard drive provides M.2 2230 shape and M.2 2280 shape optional, supports PCIe Gen4 x4, Nvme 1.4c and SMBus, uses HMB technology, and speeds up to 6000 MB/s (sequential read), 5300 MB/s (sequential write), 850K IOPS (random read), 900K IOPS (random write).

In addition, the hard drive supports the latest TCG Pyrite and Opal standards, as well as end-to-end data protection; power-off protection to avoid data loss; sideband signals (PERST#,CLKREQ# and PLN#) support 1.8V and 3.3V; and platform firmware recovery.

CTOnews.com reminded that this product belongs to the OEM model, the armor has not yet released pricing information. According to reports, the BG6 series will be on display during Dell Technologies World, and samples will be available for evaluation by OEM customers in the second half of 2023.
