CTOnews.com May 23 news, Intel recently adjusted its Falcon Shores plan again after giving up Rialto Bridge, adjusting it to a pure GPU solution, and plans to release it in 2025.
CTOnews.com Note: Intel originally planned to launch Falcon Shores in the form of XPU (a product that integrates CPU and GPU core), MI300 Accelerator (a hybrid of CDNA3 and Zen4 architectures) for standard AMD and Grace Superchip for Nvidia.
Intel recently clarified that Falcon Shores has been adjusted to GPU solution, which belongs to the Data Center GPU Max series and uses HBM3 video memory. Intel plans to launch the GPU in 2025, using a multi-chip modular solution similar to Ponte Vecchio.
Intel said it did not abandon its XPU plan, but would not apply it to Falcon Shores.
