Tesla will sell Model 3 / Y models made in China in Canada
CTOnews.com, May 23 (Xinhua)-- Tesla will sell Chinese-made Model 3 and Model Y models in Canada, confirming that the company has completed the first shipment from its Shanghai plant to North America.
According to Tesla's website, the rear-wheel drive Model Y and the long-range all-wheel drive Model 3 are currently available for immediate delivery in British Columbia, Canada. Both cars are eligible for a federal subsidy of C $5000 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 26050 yuan). But it is not clear how many Chinese-made Tesla cars can be bought in Canada, or how many have been sold.

CTOnews.com inquiry learned that the code Tesla used when listing vehicles for sale corresponds to the first three digits of the vehicle identification number (VIN). The VIN of Tesla models produced by the Shanghai factory all begins with the letter "LRW", so it can be judged that the Model 3 and Model Y sold in Canada are made by Tesla Shanghai Factory. Tesla's sales in Canada will help expand its share of the North American market and provide a new market for Chinese-made Tesla cars.
