China Eastern Airlines: domestic large aircraft C919 is expected to be put into operation in the near future

CTOnews.com May 25 news, China Eastern Airlines said at the performance presentation meeting that the company and Comac formally signed a procurement agreement for five C919 aircraft in March 2021. The first C919 aircraft was delivered to the company at the end of 2022 and is expected to be put into operation in the near future. The C919 will operate in Shanghai as the main base, and the company plans to complete the introduction of five C919 aircraft in 2022 and 2023, and will decide on the follow-up introduction plan according to the actual operation and the company's aviation network planning.

The C919 large airliner is a new generation of single-aisle trunk airliner developed by China in accordance with international airworthiness standards and with completely independent intellectual property rights. It was established in 2007, flew for the first time in 2017, and obtained the type certificate (TC certificate) of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (TC certificate) on September 29, 2022. On November 29, 2022, it obtained the production license (PC certificate) of the Civil Aviation Administration of China. C919 seat class 158192, voyage range 4075-5555 km.

According to data released by Comac, the catalogue price of the C919 aircraft is $99 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 684 million yuan), and the unit price of the RMB catalogue is 653 million yuan.

CTOnews.com noted that according to the 2022 Shanghai Science and Technology Progress report released by the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission on January 10, data from Comac showed that by the end of 2022, the C919 had received 1035 orders from 32 customers.
