CTOnews.com May 29, Nvidia confirmed today that it will launch Hopper-Next GPU in 2024, another dedicated graphics card for high-performance computing and artificial intelligence after Hopper GPU.

Nvidia did not disclose the details of Hopper-Next, but it is clear that the graphics card will be the successor to Hopper and will probably not be named "Hopper-Next" in the end. But CTOnews.com noted that last year it was reported that the graphics card was codenamed "Blackwell" and was expected to have a leapfrog improvement similar to that of Hopper to Ampere.

Nvidia has previously reiterated that the company will launch a large GPGPU architecture every two years, while Hopper was released last year, so the release of Blackwell graphics card architecture in 2024 is in line with the pace of Nvidia's release.

Previous revelations confirmed at least two Blackwell graphics cards, GB100 and GB102. The two graphics cards are likely to maintain a monolithic design and may use the new 3nm process. Nvidia Hopper is currently the world's fastest 4nm graphics card and the first in the world to use HBM3 memory. It has powerful artificial intelligence computing power and is built for the next generation of models such as ChatGPT. Hopper-Next graphics cards will also provide higher performance for similar areas, with more emphasis on dedicated artificial intelligence engines, such as the "Transformer" graphics processor engine. Blackwell will provide a significant intergenerational upgrade over Hopper (which has always been a feature of Nvidia), and you can look forward to getting more information about the next generation of Nvidia Hopper-Next graphics cards at the 2024 GTC conference.
