CTOnews.com, May 29 (Reuters)-the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently posted a statement on its website that Vietnamese electric car maker VinFast is recalling some of its first vehicles sold in the United States.

NHTSA warned consumers in a statement that VinFast's software bug would cause vehicle head-up display failure under some conditions, resulting in a blank display screen, preventing key safety information from being displayed and possibly increasing the risk of a car crash, the report said. VinFast responded that it would release an OTA update on May 25 to fix the problem.

▲ Touyuan: VinFast reported that the first vehicles shipped by VinFast to the United States will be affected, a total of about 999 VF8 need to be recalled. At present, VinFast has shipped two batches of VF8 to the United States, a total of 2097 vehicles.

This is VinFast VF8's second recall, and CTOnews.com has previously reported that VinFast announced a recall of 2781 VF8 electric vehicles sold in Vietnam in February to inspect and replace bolts connected to front brake pliers and steering knuckle. The company shipped a second batch of VF8 electric vehicles to North America in April and plans to start delivering them to US customers this month.
