CTOnews.com May 30 news, Weigang has now posted on its website about the new CAMM notebook memory introduction. Officials say it has a thinner shape, lower power consumption and lower latency than today's notebook memory.

According to officials, the new CAMM memory uses a new architectural design, which is 57% thinner than the current memory, and has lower power consumption and higher storage efficiency.

Weigang said that the memory is designed for laptops and small industrial computers, does not slow down when the system is fully loaded, has a lower latency than the same size of DIMM memory, and supports LPDDR memory.

As CTOnews.com reported earlier, Tom Schnell, a member of the JEDEC committee and a senior Dell engineer, said earlier this year that JEDEC is developing a new notebook memory specification to replace the SO-DIMM memory standard, which has been in use for 25 years. Dell first built CAMM memory and was the first to use it on Precision 7770 mobile workstations.

It was previously reported that the first JEDEC CAMM memory module should be launched when the SO-DIMM memory reaches 6400 MT / s, thus replacing SO-DIMM.
