CTOnews.com, May 31, Wechat Security Center released ten rumors on WeChat moments in May 2023, including "repeatedly switching air conditioners can save electricity" and so on.

Among them, in response to the online rumor that "repeated switching of air conditioners can save electricity", the scientific platform said that after verification, this rumor is not consistent with the facts. In fact, leaving the air conditioner on all the time saves more electricity than turning it on and off for a while. As the instantaneous current of the air conditioner during start-up is often large, if it starts repeatedly, the power consumption will increase accordingly, at the same time, it is not conducive to the maintenance of the air conditioner, causing some damage to the air conditioner and affecting the life of the air conditioner.
