Serve Robotics said the four-wheeled robot, which uses AI technology for path planning, has a range of about 40km and can carry goods weighing up to 23kg. In addition, the company's robots are responsible for the delivery of dozens of orders every day.

CTOnews.com learned that Serve Robotics was spun off by the Uber business, which was formerly a delivery robot project under the catering delivery service Postmates, and received a $10 million investment from Nvidia in March 2022 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 71 million yuan). Since Serve launched its robot delivery service last year, its monthly shipping volume has grown by more than 30%. At present, there are more than 200 restaurants in the Los Angeles area.

Uber said the partnership with Serve Robotics will expand to more cities in 2026, including San Jose, California, Dallas, Texas and Vancouver, Canada, with up to 2000 planned distribution robots.
