Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Xiao Zhan for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, June 2 (Reuters)-Ella Irwin, Twitter's head of trust and security, announced her resignation on Thursday, but she declined to disclose the reasons for her resignation, saying only that she believed she was loyal to the company during her tenure.

Irwin joined Twitter in June last year and replaced the outgoing Yoel Roth as head of the trust and security team in November, overseeing and reviewing the platform's content.

Irwin's departure comes as advertisers are cautious about whether to continue to post on Twitter because brand messages may appear next to inappropriate content.

As Fortune reported earlier, Irwin's internal Slack account appears to have been deactivated.

Since Musk bought Twitter last October, the company has been criticized for lax filtering of harmful content. In an effort to cut costs, Mr Musk fired thousands of employees, including many working to prevent harmful and illegal content, protect fair elections and check the authenticity of information.

CTOnews.com has previously reported that Twitter is facing increasing scrutiny from regulators. Thierry Thierry Breton, the EU's internal market commissioner, tweeted last week that although Twitter had withdrawn from the EU code of conduct against false information, the company still could not shirk its responsibilities.
