CTOnews.com June 3, Nike recently announced a partnership with American game giant EA to introduce NFT digital collection into sports games.

According to a Nike press release, the deal will integrate "virtual creation" from the Nike Swoosh Web3 platform into future EA Sports games.

NFT claims to be a unique non-interchangeable data unit stored on the blockchain, allowing users to own, buy and sell digital goods such as in-game items or works of art.

Nike Swoosh launched its first line of NFT sneakers last month, with sales of more than $1 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 7.09 million yuan), according to CTOnews.com. The platform was launched in November last year and is still in the internal testing stage, and the cooperation with EA will help promote the platform.

Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, said in November 2021 that NFT could be "an important part of the future of our industry", and a few months later he said the company would not give priority to adding them to its games.

Nike said more details about the partnership would be released in the coming months. The content is expected to be launched in July, when EA will announce its successor to the "FIFA" football game, "EA Sports FC".
