Fortune 500 list: top three of Wal-Mart, Amazon and Exxon Mobil
CTOnews.com, June 5 (Xinhua)-- the threshold for the 2023 Fortune 500 list has risen to $7.2 billion, with Wal-Mart topping the list for the 11th year in a row, Amazon second and ExxonMobil surpassing Apple in third place. The total revenue of the top 10 companies on the list reached $3.7 trillion.
The total income of all the 500 companies on the list rose to $18.1 trillion from $16.1 trillion last year, an increase of about 13% over the previous year. There were 28 new or re-listed companies, of which 15 were on the list for the first time, including cloud computing company VMware and residential giant Airbnb. Five companies have achieved a 10-year total annual return of more than 30% for shareholders, including Tesla, Nvidia, Chaowei Semiconductor, Broadcom and Netflix.
According to CTOnews.com, Microsoft ranked 13th, with revenue up about 18% year-on-year last year. Meta Platforms revenue fell 1% year-on-year to 31st place. Apple earned $99.803 billion last year, up about 5.4% from a year earlier; Microsoft earned $72.738 billion, up about 18.7%; and ExxonMobil earned $55.74 billion, up about 141.9% from a year earlier.
