CTOnews.com June 13 news, for Microsoft Windows 10/11 operating system third-party file manager application Files recently released version 2.5 update. This update provides some new features, UI improvements, and bug fixes.

Files version 2.5 restored acrylic background, now users can switch between Mica and acrylic similar to Microsoft Alt. Among them, Mica is specially designed for application performance optimization, which only takes a sample of desktop wallpaper to create its visualization effect. Acrylic samples other interfaces on the screen, which also takes up more system resources.

This version also introduces support for navigation gestures. Users can navigate by swiping left or right on a touchscreen-equipped display, a feature that is friendly to Windows tablet owners.

In addition, this release introduces the ability to manage repositories natively using Git. Branches of Git can now be displayed on the status bar, and code can be pulled from remote repositories using the "Pull" button, creating new branches, switching local/remote branches, etc., with the announcement that "more Git features are planned for future updates."
