CTOnews.com, June 14, according to the latest report released by market research firm Canalys, shipments of PC (including desktops, laptops, and workstations) from Western Europe in the first quarter of 2023 were 10 million, down 37 percent from the same period last year.

Of this total, notebook shipments were 8.1 million, down 37 per cent from a year earlier; desktop shipments were 1.9 million, down 35 per cent from a year earlier; and tablet shipments were 5.2 million, down 20 per cent from a year earlier.

Canalys's latest forecast predicts that shipments of PCs and tablets in western Europe will fall 9 per cent and 12 per cent respectively for the whole of 2023.

Canalys believes that the PC market in Western Europe is in a state of recovery, with month-on-month growth in the second half of 2023, which will be more pronounced in 2024.

CTOnews.com attached the following information of the major manufacturers in the western European market. The biggest highlight is that Apple shipped 1.456 million units this quarter, down 18.8% from the same period last year, with a market share of 14.6%, surpassing Dell and ranking third.

Lenovo's sales fell 36.1% from a year earlier, Hewlett-Packard's sales fell 35.3%, Dell's sales fell 40.7%, and Asustek's sales fell 32.4%.
