CTOnews.com, June 17 (Xinhua)-- according to a list published by the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple recently obtained a new patent numbered US 11676373 B2, suggesting that Face ID will be introduced to the Mac platform.

The new patent, called "personal computer devices control detection and recognition of faces," is described by CTOnews.com as citing Apple patents, which include, but are not limited to, desktops, laptops, laptops, workstations, server interfaces and handheld computers.

Apple mentioned two kinds of active interface and passive interface in its patent. The active interface mainly includes typing words on the keyboard, talking, scrolling the list, selecting icons using the mouse pointer, and so on. The passive interface mainly includes viewing text files, viewing images, watching movies, listening to songs, listening to audio or feeling vibration, and so on.

In the patent, Apple has designed a new user interface for personal computers, which allows users to confirm the existence of passive users and provide solutions without the need for active interaction with the device.

In addition, through the introduction of Face ID on Mac devices, access to restricted computer applications no longer requires users to actively enter passwords, and operations such as unlocking can be performed directly.
