Musk said that the Twitter video application for smart TV is coming soon.

CTOnews.com, June 18 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- Elon Musk, boss of Twitter and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, said on Twitter on Saturday that Twitter plans to launch a smart TV video app, which is in line with the company's new strategy to focus on adding video content to the platform.

"it's coming," Musk said in response to a tweet advising Twitter to launch a video app.

Twitter's new chief executives, Linda Yaccarino and Musk, outlined Twitter's plans to focus on video, creators and business partners to revitalize the social media company's business beyond digital advertising in an investor presentation on Thursday. A slide in the presentation shows that vertical video accounts for more than 10% of Twitter users' time.

CTOnews.com noted that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson launched a new show on the platform earlier this month called "Tucker in Twitter" (Tucker on Twitter). Twitter envisions selling ads and sponsorship alongside videos of Carlson and other content creators, according to a person familiar with the matter.
