CTOnews.com June 22, Apple announced that the visionOS Software Development Kit (SDK) for the upcoming Vision Pro headset is now available to third-party developers through Xcode 15 Beta 2. Apple announced on WWDC that the SDK would be launched later this month.

"starting today, Apple's global developer community will be able to create a new spatial computing application that takes full advantage of the infinite canvas in Vision Pro and seamlessly integrates digital content with the physical world to achieve extraordinary new experiences," Apple said. "with visionOS SDK, developers can take advantage of the powerful and unique features of Vision Pro and visionOS to design new application experiences, covering productivity, design, games and other categories."

Apple said it would open developer labs in Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo next month to provide practical experience for developers, test their App on Apple Vision Pro hardware and enlist the support of Apple engineers. CTOnews.com notes that the developer team can also apply for a developer suite to be released next month to help them quickly build, iterate, and test directly on the Apple Vision Pro.

Starting next month, developers who use Unity's powerful authoring tools to build 3D App and games can port their Unity App to Apple Vision Pro and take full advantage of the latter's power.
