Volkswagen CEO: no plans to "resurrect" the Beetle

CTOnews.com June 29 news, Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schäfer (Thomas Schäfer) recently told Autonews interview made it clear that in the next few years of the road map, there are no plans to launch an electric version of the Beetle (Beetle) model.

CTOnews.com translated part of the interview as follows:

I'm not 100% sure right now, but from where I stand right now, I'm not thinking about launching it [electric version of the Beetle]."

The beetle, like Scirocco, is an important part of vw's development history, and new models may follow. But an exact replica of the classic beetle? I don't think so.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the electric version of the Volkswagen Beetle concept car recently appeared on the streets of Paris, France. The car was previously featured in a poster for the animated film Miracles: Ladybug & Cat Noir.

The new car retains a lot of classic Beetle elements, such as round body posture and headlights, so that it still has a high degree of recognition. However, the design style of the Beetle concept car is full of futuristic feeling. From the side of the car body, it can be seen that the new car is suspected to adopt the integrated design of windows and doors, with pixel-style dot decoration and streaming rearview mirrors. At the rear, the Beetle concept car also features very classic round lights and spoilers.
