It is said that the current Bug mainly affects SKU (up to 32 cores) based on MCC-Die (medium number of cores) chips, while the 60-core XCC model does not find this error.

As far as CTOnews.com knows, the MCC model is a single chip design, while the XCC model is made up of four Tiles, and the Xeon-Max CPU also uses four Tiles.

At present, this problem seems to be aimed at 2S and 4S models, and it is speculated that UPI interconnection may be the main cause of this problem. According to an Intel spokesman:

We are aware of a problem with the subset of the SPR-MCC in the fourth-generation Intel Xeon, which may disrupt the system under certain conditions, and we are actively investigating this issue.

This problem is not found when running commercial software, nor are other fourth-generation Intel Xeon processors SKU (that is, XCC and HBM).

Out of caution, we have suspended some SPR MCC shipments, while we are confident about the expected firmware mitigation measures and expect the remaining shipments to be completed soon.
