CTOnews.com Unity launched a new AI development resource tool and AI software marketplace earlier this week to help developers better leverage AI technology to create games and 3D content, and announced its first ten AI digital asset partners.

However, Unity said yesterday that it had removed one of its partners, Atlas 3D Asset Creator, from Unity Asset Store because Atlas sold digital assets on the platform that were not generated by AI, but only obtained from SketchFab, a 3D modeling platform.

Shortly after Unity initially announced its AI digital asset store partners, users took to Twitter to question the legitimacy of Atlas digital assets. At the same time, some developers pointed out that a model for sale on Unity Asset Store had a comment that read "I've been lazy recently, so this model isn't mine" and that the model was linked directly to SketchFab website.

Unity emphasizes that the company is actively reviewing all proven solution providers in the AI category and remains committed to maintaining the quality of the ecosystem. Currently, the digital assets of the remaining nine partners can still be purchased normally.

CTOnews.com reported earlier that Unity launched AI Hub, an AI software marketplace for developers, and new AI development resource tools Unity Muse and Unity Sentis on June 27, driving its share price up 15%.
