Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen DynamIK for the clue delivery! Beijing time at noon on July 3, Apple has been forced to significantly reduce the production forecast of the hybrid reality head show Vision Pro.

Sources say Apple plans to produce fewer than 400000 Vision Pro units in 2024, after the company hoped to ship 1 million units when it launched in 2024.

According to several people with direct knowledge of the equipment's manufacturing process, the complexity of the design and production difficulties were the reasons for the reduction of the target, and the plan to launch a cheaper version had to be delayed.

After seven years of research and development, Vision Pro launched last month and has been hailed as the most important product release since iPhone. Apple has said the $3500 headset won't be available until early next year, a long way from its June 5 launch.

Analysts say this has more to do with supply chain issues than giving developers time to develop applications for Vision Pro.

Industry insiders such as Eddie Han, an analyst at Isaiah Research, believe that expectations of low production reflect Apple's lack of confidence in large-scale production.
