However, it was soon discovered that a loophole in this feature was that users could use ChatGPT to bypass the paywall of some websites and get the full text of the article directly.

A paywall is a restriction set by a website to allow users to pay for subscriptions, and non-subscribers cannot read the information posted on the site. However, OpenAI has found that some users use the "browse with Bing" feature to bypass the paywall, and just ask ChatGPT for the full text of a URL, and it may inadvertently satisfy the request.

In order to respect the rights and interests of content owners, OpenAI announced that the "browsing with Bing" beta feature had been disabled as of July 3, 2023, and said it was fixing the problem.
