The longest railway ferry line in Asia: directly connecting Yantai and Dalian, which can shorten the distance by more than 1600 km.

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens for the delivery of clues on the way! CTOnews.com, July 5 (Xinhua)-- some netizens found a railway line on Bohai Bay on a map App. According to the official China Railway official account, this is a railway ferry line from Yantai to Dalian and is currently the longest railway ferry line in Asia.

The railway ferry line connects Liaodong and Shandong peninsulas and radiates the eastern coast. According to official data, the distance transported by sea is about 99.79nautical miles. The railway ferry line opens the shortest route from the northeast to Shandong and the eastern coastal areas, which is more than 1600 kilometers shorter than the distance around Shanhaiguan.

At present, the railway ferry line has a total of three China Railway Bohai railway ferries, which can transport 16000 tons of railway goods per day. The ferry has train, car and passenger entrances, and it takes only 40 minutes for passengers, trains and cars to board and unload at the same time.

In terms of ticket purchase, there are ferry ticket windows at the exit of Yantai Station and the waiting area of Yantai North Station, and tickets can also be purchased online through WeChat Mini Programs, the China Railway Bohai Railway Ferry.

It is worth mentioning that the Yantai-Dalian railway ferry line is not an example of "sea railway". As early as 2003, the Yue-Hai railway connecting Guangdong and Hainan has already been put into operation, and this is also the first railway line that can cross the sea in our country.
