CTOnews.com, July 10 (Xinhua)-- MSG Sphere, a spherical immersive experience venue located in the center of Las Vegas, opened the first lighting test of the exterior wall LED screen this week.

The giant spherical building, which cost $2.3 billion to build, has the world's largest LED screen facade and the largest spherical building in the world. Sphere officially turned on the lights and held a fireworks display on July 4, 2023. Sphere's LED screen covers an area of about 580000 square feet and has 1.2 million lamp beads, each of which can display up to 256 million colors.

The Sphere has a diameter of 157.2 meters and a height of 111.5 meters. It can hold 17600 seats and has a standing capacity of 20000 people. Sphere's LED screen can display a variety of animated effects, such as the moon, earth, Halloween pumpkins, fireworks and eyeballs.

The video of Sphere has gone viral online recently, with some people thinking it is the coolest building in the United States, while others think it is a waste of resources. Sphere will hold its first performance in September, and the rock band U2 will take the stage.
