Tesla's Mexican super factory is about to get the final permit and enter the construction phase.

CTOnews.com, July 10, according to Samuel Alejandro Garc í a Sep ú lveda, Governor of Nuevo Le ó n, Tesla's super factory in Mexico is about to receive all final permits and enter the construction phase.

The superfactory, located on the outskirts of Monterrey, was announced by Tesla on investors' Day in March, where Tesla plans to produce the next generation of models.

CTOnews.com noted that Tesla had said he hoped to build the plant at a record pace and could even break the Shanghai super factory's record of just nine months from start to production. However, four months have passed since the project was announced, and Tesla has not yet started construction. According to reports, this is because it is still waiting for permission.

Now it seems that things are making progress. Sepulveda, the governor of Nuevo Leon, who is involved in the project, said he expected Tesla to be allowed to start construction at any time: "We haven't set a specific date yet, but the good news is that all permits, including the environment, energy and water resources, have been reviewed and are in progress, so we may tell them at any time that the first stone has laid the foundation."

Sepulveda also revealed his views on the models that Tesla plans to produce in the new factory: "according to the information we have, they are now in the final stage of new model design, this will be a new model, as far as we know, it will be the best electric car and the most economical car in the world, it will be a milestone. With the design completed, they have completed all the preparations for the production line, software and factory start-up. "
