Thank CTOnews.com netizens soft media Xinyou 1933769 for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, July 11, according to the latest quarterly report released by market research firm IDC, global shipments of personal computing devices fell 13.4% in the second quarter of 2023.
IDC said the global PC market had contracted for six consecutive quarters due to the macroeconomic downturn, weak consumer and business demand, and lower IT budgets. Although the performance of PC shipments in the quarter was poor, it was better than expected.
IDC said weak overall demand caused all PC manufacturers to maintain the impact of "inventory clearance", with all leading companies except Apple and Hewlett-Packard experiencing double-digit declines in the quarter.
Among them, Apple shipped 5.3 million units in the second quarter of 2023, an increase of 10.3% over the same period last year, and its market share increased to 8.6% from 6.8% last year, an increase of 1.8%. It is also the only one of the top five brands that has achieved positive growth.
