ASML: no major change in China's recruitment plan for 2023

CTOnews.com, July 11 (Xinhua)-- Dutch lithography giant ASML plans to stop hiring this year and focus on the training and settlement of about 10000 employees hired last year, the Dutch Times reported today. ASML believes the market demand for chips and lithography machines is slowing.

In the Dutch Times report, a spokesman for ASML said: "Last year, we hired 10000 employees who came to meet the explosive demand for lithography machines. But training all these new employees has proved to be a difficult task. Too many new employees have put pressure on the organization of the company, and it's good to take a break this year." The spokesman stressed that ASML does not completely freeze job recruitment, but the scale of recruitment will be reduced.

"the chip industry has strong long-term growth prospects but faces short-term setbacks," an ASML spokesman said. First-quarter results showed a sharp decline in ASML's turnover, when customers ordered 3.8 billion euros worth of chip manufacturing equipment from ASML (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 30.172 billion yuan), compared with 60-8 billion euros (currently about 476.4-63.52 billion yuan) in previous quarters.
