Anthropic releases "GPT-4 opponent" Claude 2 language model: stronger performance and longer text support

Compared with the previous version, Claude 2 has improved performance, and can achieve longer text response, greatly improved in programming, mathematics, reasoning and so on.

The new features of Claude 2 are improved in the following ways:

Programming, math and reasoning are better than their predecessors: it has a correct rate of 76.5 per cent in the multiple-choice section of the US bar exam, compared with 70 per cent in the previous Claude 1.3; Claude 2 scored more than 90 per cent in the GRE reading and writing test; and Claude 2 scored more than 60 per cent in all three subjects, meaning a "ALL PASS" in the US physician license exam.

Input and output lengths have increased significantly: users can now enter up to 100000 token in each prompt, meaning they can read hundreds of pages of file content at a time. At the same time, Claude 2 can do all kinds of text work on thousands of token, such as writing memos, letters and even stories.

It is worth noting that Claude supports Chinese, and Anthropic has launched a Beta testing website, but only for registration in the United States and the United Kingdom. At the same time, Claude 2 also opens up the model to enterprises through API.

Google has invested nearly $400 million in the company since the end of 2022, and Anthropic has now announced a formal partnership with Google Cloud. Anthropic's blockbuster product, Claude, was launched in February and is considered one of ChatGPT's main competitors.

The previous version of Claude 1.3 has been able to learn and understand financial reports, chip development manuals, identification documents and legal risks in conversations.
