Gurman: Apple may launch its first Mac computer with M3 chip in October
CTOnews.com, July 16 (Xinhua)-- Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said recently that Apple is preparing to launch its first Mac computer with an M3 chip in October.
▲ Tuyuan Apple's official website previously reported that Apple will launch the iPhone 15 series, Apple Watch Series 9 and the new Apple Watch Ultra at the launch of the new iPhone in September. Gurman said Apple is preparing to launch a new Mac in October, with possible models including the new M3 iMac, 13-inch M3 MacBook Air and M3 MacBook Pro.
Given that the M2 life cycle is not over, it is strange that the M3 arrives so early-products such as the Mac Studio and 15-inch MacBook Air with M2 Ultra chips just debuted last month. However, many people speculate that the M2 chip is due to supply chain problems, leading to the release of the new product has been delayed.
Gurman said that while the MacBook Air with M3 chip may be available in October, M3 updates for products such as MacBook Pro and Mac Studio may have to wait for some time.
Gurman did not specify whether Apple would hold a formal launch in October, nor did it disclose when the new computer would be launched.
CTOnews.com previously reported that Gurman said last month that Apple was already developing 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models with M3 chips, which are expected to be released in 2024.
