CTOnews.com, July 18, according to the May 2023 statistics released by EV-Volumes, global electric vehicle sales reached 1057509, the fifth time in history that the number exceeded one million.

The data show that there are more than 720000 pure electric vehicles, accounting for more than 70% of electric vehicles and more than 11% of all car sales.

CTOnews.com, according to the report data, the summary for May this year is as follows:

Pure electric vehicles: about 727000, accounting for 11%

Plug-in hybrid cars: about 330000, accounting for 5%

Total electric vehicles: 1057509, up 50% from the same period last year, accounting for 16%.

The cumulative sales figures from January to May 2023 are as follows:

Pure electric vehicles: about 3.26 million, accounting for 10%

Plug-in hybrid cars: about 1.3 million, accounting for 4%

Total electric vehicles: 4558183, up 41% from the same period last year, accounting for 14%.
