CTOnews.com, July 21, the source RGcloudS revealed in a recent tweet that Apple is adopting a new charging protocol and power chip that will allow the iPhone to recharge 40W wired and 20W MagSafe wirelessly.

RGcloudS said it is not possible to confirm whether Apple will apply this improvement to the iPhone 15 series, and does not rule out the possibility of a delay to the iPhone 16 series.

CTOnews.com Note: Apple iPhone 14 series supports a maximum wired charging power of 30W MagSafe up to 15W charging.

RGcloudS has previously revealed that the iPhone 15 series will use automotive laminated battery technology, not only with higher energy density, but also safer, but said in the latest tweet that the technology has been postponed to the iPhone 16 series.

Stackable battery cells use a manufacturing technique called lamination, in which battery elements and separators are folded into jagged layers rather than rolled up. Because the space in the packaging unit is less wasted, it can contain more active substances, thus increasing the total capacity.

This enables stackable batteries to have a higher energy density than wound batteries. Heat can also be distributed more evenly within the unit, rather than concentrated in one area, thus extending the life of the battery.
