CTOnews.com, July 22 (Xinhua)-- the number of daily active users of Threads apps now stands at 13 million, falling for two consecutive weeks and down 70 percent from its peak on July 7, according to Sensor Tower, a market intelligence firm.

The data show that the average usage time of the app has also dropped sharply, from 19 minutes to 4 minutes.

By contrast, Twitter has around 200 million daily active users, with users spending an average of 30 minutes a day on the platform.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that Meta executives are not worried, the next focus is to introduce new features, enhance the user experience, and then shift the focus to monetization.

Richard Hanna, a professor of social media strategy and digital marketing at Babson College, suggests that Threads needs to expand its capabilities to keep users interested.

Some users criticized the app for being similar to Instagram in content.

Adam Mosseri, head of the Instagram department, promises to provide multiple features, including support for multiple accounts, editing posts, and introducing chronological feeds.
