Google sent an email notice announcing that it would begin to clean up dormant accounts that had been inactive for two consecutive years in December this year.
CTOnews.com August 1 news, Google sent an email to users last weekend, reminding users again that officials will clean up dormant accounts that have not been active for two consecutive years on December 1, 2023.
CTOnews.com translated part of Google's email as follows: "For accounts currently dormant, we will contact you by email or other means before cleaning up the account. Users have at least 8 months to activate their account from the time the first notification is sent."
The easiest way to keep your Google account active is to sign in at least once every two years. As long as you have accessed your Google account within the last two years, it will be considered an active account and will not be deleted.
Other ways to maintain your account activity include reading or sending emails, using Google Drive, downloading apps from the Play Store, using Google Search and watching YouTube when signing in, sharing photos or using Google Single Sign-On with third-party services, and more.
