CTOnews.com August 2 news, Samsung's acquisition of Harman International (Harman) made the right move, 6 years operating profit increased 15 times! Samsung completed its acquisition of Harman International for $8 billion in 2017, and six years later, Harman has become an important source of revenue for Samsung.

CTOnews.com is enclosing Samsung's second quarter 2023 results report. Harman International has revenue of 3.5 trillion won (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 19.495 billion yuan) and operating profit of 250 billion won (currently about 1.393 billion yuan). Compared with the same period last year, Harman's revenue increased by 17.4% and operating profit soared 2.5 times.

Among the company's household appliances, video display, network, device solutions and display business units, Harman is the only one with year-on-year growth in revenue and operating profit.

In fact, Harman's initial performance did not fully meet people's high expectations. Before the acquisition, Harman's operating profit in 2016 was about 680 billion won. But Samsung's operating profit fell sharply to 57.4 billion won in 2017 after the acquisition.
