The renaming of Twitter X caused public anger, and users gave the app an one-star bad rating one after another.

In the US Apple App Store, users have given the renamed app an one-star negative rating, according to a new analysis by market intelligence firm Sensor Tower. Since officially renamed X on July 24, nearly 78 per cent of the reviews the app has received on the US iOS platform have been one-star reviews, up from 50 per cent in the previous two weeks, according to Sensor Tower. (50% is obviously not good, indicating that users have complained a lot about the many changes Musk has made to Twitter since he took over. )

Sensor Tower pointed out that the new one-star bad reviews were all in response to the name change, and users wrote that they were dissatisfied with the new logo and name. Users have said, "give us the bird back", "give us the bird!"what is X?"the good app has gone bad" and "ugly".

However, the name change is not entirely bad news. CTOnews.com noted that Sensor Tower data showed that the global installation of X apps increased by 20 per cent year-on-year after the renaming. At the same time, the weekly user growth rate has also increased by 3-4%. Earlier this month, X CEO Linda Yakarino claimed that the use of the app had reached an all-time high, and on July 28, X owner Elon Musk posted that monthly active users had reached a new high this year. However, neither of the executives gave a specific date or time when usage peaked.

However, Sensor Tower's analysis also revealed that after changing the name to X, the average usage time per user decreased by 7 per cent, and the number of daily sessions per user decreased by 6 per cent.
