BMW China: emergency donation of 15 million yuan to Beijing for flood control and disaster relief
CTOnews.com, August 3, BMW Group today announced an emergency donation of 15 million yuan to the Beijing Charity Association for emergency relief and post-disaster reconstruction in areas affected by torrential rains in Beijing.
Typhoon du Surui caused torrential rain and flooding in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. In response to the dangerous situation, BMW China allocated much-needed resources to donate 15 million yuan to the Beijing Charity Association. The donation will be used to purchase daily necessities, emergency rescue equipment and post-disaster reconstruction work according to the needs of Mentougou District, Fangshan District and other affected areas around Beijing.
According to CTOnews.com, Tencent, Alibaba, Ant Group, Baidu, Byte Jump, JD.com, pinduoduo, Xiaomi, NetEase, ideal Automobile and other companies have also donated cash and materials. Apple CEO Cook announced on Weibo: our hearts are for the people of Beijing and the surrounding areas of Hebei Province affected by severe torrential rains and floods. Apple will donate money to support local relief efforts.
