CTOnews.com, Aug. 4 (Xinhua)-- when announcing its latest results in the third quarter of fiscal 2023 (the second quarter of this year), Apple said that the number of paid subscribers worldwide exceeded 1 billion, pushing the company's service business to a new level.

"our services revenue reached an all-time high, boosted by positive results in the second quarter of this year, driven by more than 1 billion paid subscribers, while iPhone sales in emerging markets continued to be strong, further boosting iPhone's expansion," Cook said in a press release. Estimated revenue from the services business is $21.2 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 152.428 billion yuan), up 8 percent from $19.6 billion in the same period last year (currently about 140.924 billion yuan).

Luca Maestri, Apple's chief financial officer, went on to say that the installation base for active Apple devices was also "at an all-time high in every geographic region".

Maestri did not disclose specific figures, but Apple said in February that the number of active devices had exceeded 2 billion.
