CTOnews.com, August 11 (Xinhua)-- General Motors announced earlier this year that it will give up support for Apple's CarPlay and Google's Android Auto in favor of its own proprietary car system from 2024.

GM yesterday unveiled a new Cadillac Escalade IQ all-electric SUV with a large 55-inch LED screen that sells for as much as $130000 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 939000 yuan).

Foreign technology media The Verge confirmed to General Motors that the pure electric SUV will not natively support Apple's CarPlay or Google's Android Auto.

CTOnews.com previously reported that GM announced that it would phase out Apple's CarPlay and Google's Android Auto from this year and instead use Google's Android Automotive platform to jointly develop car-engine systems.

Starting with the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV, which goes on sale this summer, the new car will no longer offer the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto natively. The phase-out plan will be deployed to fuel vehicles in 2035.
