Basic M3 Ultra specification: 32-core CPU, including 24 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores, 64-core GPU

Basic M2 Ultra specification: 24-core CPU, including 16 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores, 60-core GPU

Top version of M3 Ultra specification: 32-core CPU, including 24 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores, 80-core GPU

Top version M2 Ultra specification: 24 core CPU, including 16 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores, 76 cores GPU

From the above specifications, it can be seen that the M3 Ultra chip has a significant increase compared with the M2 Ultra chip in the CPU core, while the increase in the GPU core is relatively small. CTOnews.com notes that the increase in CPU cores mainly comes from the increase in performance cores rather than efficiency cores. This means that the M3 Ultra chip will be able to handle more high-load tasks and improve the computing power of Mac devices.

It is reported that Apple will launch the first Mac devices with M3 chips in October, including the 13-inch MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and the 24-inch iMac. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips are expected to be launched first in 2024, followed by new versions of Mac Pro and Mac Studio with M3 Ultra.
