Gartner reports that generative AI has reached a "peak of inflation expectations" and is about to fall into a "disillusionment trough"
CTOnews.com August 17 news, market research institutions Gartner recently released a report, to generate AI hype cycle (Hype Cycle) point of view, has reached a "peak inflation expectations."
The agency divides the hype cycle of generative AI into five stages: innovation trigger (Innovation Trigger), "inflated expectation peak" (Peak of Inflated Expectations), "disillusionment trough" (Trough of Disillusionment), "slope of enlightenment" (Slope of Enlightenment) and "productivity plateau" (Plateau of Productivity).
The agency believes that generative AI is currently in stage 2 and will quickly fall to a low ebb because consumers and the media expect too much of it.
The agency expects to enter phase 5 in the next 2-5 years, when AI enhancement, cloud sustainability, causal AI, post-quantum cryptography, GitOps and so on will flourish.
