CTOnews.com, August 18-July 2023 is the hottest month since records began in 1880, according to recent research by scientists at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Research (GISS) in New York.

Overall, July's temperature was 0.43 degrees Fahrenheit higher than any previous NASA recorded July, and 2.1 degrees Fahrenheit higher than the average July temperature between 1951 and 1980.

Gavin Schmidt, director of ▲ Tuyuan NASAGISS, pointed out that July is hotter than any other July, the hottest month on record (dating back to 1880). "Science has proved that this is not normal. Global warming is mainly caused by man-made greenhouse gas emissions, and rising average temperatures are contributing to the danger of extremely hot weather."

NASA Director Bill Nelson also called on Americans to experience the effects of the climate crisis in every corner of the United States. "Science is clear and clear, and we must act immediately to protect our communities and the planet."

Analysis of NASA data shows that ocean temperatures in the eastern tropical Pacific are particularly "warm", with high sea surface temperatures contributing to record high temperatures in July-a manifestation of the "El Ni ñ o phenomenon" since May 2023, the greatest impact of which is expected to occur in February, March and April 2024.
