Indian telecom company Jio launches Netflix prepaid subscription service, valid for 84 days

CTOnews.com, Aug. 18, according to Reuters, Reliance Jio Infocomm, a telecom subsidiary of Reliance Industries, said it had launched a Netflix prepaid subscription service.

It is reported that about 400 million prepaid customers of Jio will have the option to subscribe to Netflix through two packages:

The first price is 1099 rupees (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 96 yuan), you can watch Netflix on mobile and provide 2GB traffic every day.

The second, which costs 1499 rupees (currently about RMB132), allows you to watch Netflix on TV and provide 3GB traffic every day.

Jio says the subscription package is valid for up to 84 days.

Reliance said it was the first time Netflix had partnered with Indian telecom operators to provide streaming services on a prepaid or pay-as-you-go package (the vast majority of people in India use a pay-as-you-go package for Mobile Phone Top-Up Service rather than a subscription).
