CTOnews.com, August 22 (Xinhua) over the weekend, many users of the X site (formerly Twitter) found that early Twitter images had mysteriously disappeared from the site.

Now the company has confirmed that this is due to an unspecified "bug" and is working to fix it.

The problem first appeared on Saturday, when the old Twitter that used to contain pictures became an unclickable t.co URL. The X website now says the bug affected "pre-2014 pictures," but The Verge previously pointed out that 2014 Twitter was also affected, including Ellen DeGeneres's famous Oscar selfie. But 2014 Oscar photos have been restored, but some other old tweets still lack pictures.

"We have fixed this bug and the problem will be fully resolved in the next few days," the X website said in a statement through its support account. The X website does not provide more details about the reasons for bug. The company said no underlying pictures or data were lost.

The X site has experienced several failures in the past few months, and the pictures and links on the site temporarily expired in March due to API changes. CTOnews.com notes that Musk has repeatedly complained about the infrastructure of website X, but he has also slashed server budgets and laid off many website reliability engineers to reduce costs.
