CTOnews.com, August 28 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft has launched a new feature in Windows 11 called Windows Copilot, an artificial intelligence assistant that can communicate with users via voice or text to help users accomplish a variety of tasks. Windows Copilot actually integrates Bing.com/ chat into a Microsoft Edge-driven panel, which is somewhat disappointing so far.

CTOnews.com notes that Windows Copilot is still in the preview stage and its features are limited, but according to Windowslatest, Microsoft plans to add more features in the future to allow Windows Copilot to integrate more deeply with Windows 11. Using Microsoft Edge's API, Microsoft has developed built-in plug-ins that allow Windows Copilot to control operating system-level functions, such as changing settings, opening applications, turning dark mode on or off, adjusting brightness, and reading the contents of other applications.

Microsoft also plans to let Windows Copilot support third-party plug-ins so that users can customize the features they want. It is reported that Microsoft wants Windows Copilot to be as modular as possible so that the system will not be bloated. Most of the functions of Windows Copilot are implemented through built-in plug-ins and third-party plug-ins. These plug-ins can provide an interactive way for users to complete various operations through simple artificial intelligence-driven commands. For example, there is a plug-in that allows Windows Copilot to access the task manager, and users can use Copilot to monitor or close running applications. There is also a plug-in that allows Windows Copilot to control accessibility, making it easier for people with disabilities to use the system.

It is reported that the Microsoft Windows Copilot third-party plug-in will be launched in the next few weeks.
