CTOnews.com August 31, Microsoft today released Version 2309 updates to Office users of Beta channels. One of the most noteworthy adjustments is that the web version of Word no longer supports saving "view-only" documents.

Word:

Fixed an issue where the document comparison (Compare) button was grayed out and unavailable when the desktop side was open and the account was logged in.

Fixed an issue where documents with View only permission could be saved.

Fixed error message that "the file format you are trying to open has been set to block in the Trust Center". This error appears when you try to open a file type marked as open in protected view when Application Guard is enabled for Office and the Open selected file type in protected view and allow editing setting is enabled.
