CTOnews.com, August 31, China's first Beidou-3 satellite navigation system (BDS) airborne civil aircraft positioning and tracking equipment has been approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CTSOA) on August 29, marking the official approval of the installation and deployment of the equipment.

Officials say this is the first successful application of the Beidou-3 positioning and tracking system in China's civil transport and aviation sector and is of landmark significance.

According to public data, this Beidou satellite global tracking system is developed and produced by Anji Avionics. The research and development of the Beidou satellite global tracking system was first based on the civil aviation Beidou cooperation agreement signed by China Eastern Airlines and Anji Aerospace Expo at the 13th China International Aerospace Expo in 2021.

According to reports, this Beidou satellite global tracking system can obtain the aircraft's position, ground speed, and UTC time by using the RNSS service of the Beidou system, obtain the flight state parameters of the aircraft's original system through cross-linking with the original system, and use the unique RDSS short message communication of the Beidou system to transmit data from the aircraft to the ground at dense intervals, thus realizing the whole process of tracking the aircraft during flight.
