By using a uniform pattern of billions of lenses in the panel, MLA can significantly reduce internal reflection and further improve screen brightness while reducing screen power consumption and extending life.

However, the deployment of MLA has two disadvantages. For ordinary consumers, the biggest impact is that the field of view of the screen becomes narrower, reducing the viewing angle from the side. Another obvious disadvantage is that deploying MLA increases manufacturing costs.

Another complication is the difference in materials developed by Samsung and LG, which are said to fall short of Apple's standards.

Apple is currently evaluating whether to deploy this OLED solution, which, if adopted, should be used on the iPhone 16 model, which will be launched in the second half of next year.
