Huawei launches cloud data center in Saudi Arabia to support 200000 new developers in the region over the next five years
Thank you, Mr. Air, a netizen of CTOnews.com, for your clue delivery! CTOnews.com, Sept. 5 (Reuters)-Huawei has opened a cloud data center in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to expand its online service offerings in the Middle East and North Africa. The Riyadh Cloud data Center, Huawei's 30th cloud data center in the world, will support Saudi government services and support artificial intelligence applications and language models in Arabic.
"the implementation of Huawei Cloud is not only about us, but also a bridge to bring other Chinese companies to Saudi Arabia," said Steven Yi, regional president of Huawei. "our cloud services are not only applicable to Saudi Arabia, but also work with local companies and we will achieve growth across the Middle East and Africa." He added that the move would help the country's digital economy, noting that Huawei had opened a regional headquarters in the Saudi capital this year.
CTOnews.com learned from foreign media that Saudi Arabia had previously said it would not sign contracts with foreign companies that did not have regional headquarters in the country after this year.
Huawei plans to support 200000 new developers in Saudi Arabia over the next five years and work with 1000 home partners and 2000 start-ups to provide cloud computing services.
