Pre-emptive Pixel Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 watches get One UI 5 Watch updates based on Wear OS 4
CTOnews.com Sept. 5, Samsung has started pushing Wear OS 4-based One UI 5 Watch updates for Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, which makes Galaxy Watch 4 ahead of Pixel Watch in Wear OS 4 updates.
CTOnews.com noted that many Reddit users reported that their Galaxy Watch 4 Bluetooth version received One UI 5 Watch updates and have not seen any posts about LTE watches receiving updates.
The One UI 5 Watch update adds a number of new features to the old flagship Samsung smartwatch, including a new dial and tile, a new battery tile that allows the user to quickly view the remaining charge of the watch, a Buds controller tile that allows the user to turn on / off 360audio, and a timer tile that allows the user to quickly start the timer without opening the dedicated application.
In addition, Galaxy Watch 4 series updates also provide users with functions such as personalized heart rate range, irregular rhythm notification, running tracking, advanced sleep guidance, automatic cycle exercise recording, and so on.
The Galaxy Watch 4 series also adds features to control the volume and mute of incoming calls, and to use the keyboard during calls, which are not available on the One UI 4 Watch.
In addition, some of the underlying Wear OS 4 features follow. For example, users can now pair the watch with a new phone without performing full factory settings.
The size of this update is about 1.7GB, so it's best to download it through the Wi-Fi network. If you haven't seen the update yet, please wait patiently. It may be launched in stages.
